Oregano essential oil has powerfully cleansing properties and supports the immune, respiratory, and digestive systems. Known as “the oil of humility,” Oregano was revered by the ancient Greeks for its taste and its countless health benefits.
Taken internally, Oregano essential oil supports the digestive, respiratory, and immune systems. It’s most popularly used for immune support. Oregano offers powerful antioxidants, which come from carvacrol and thymol, the primary chemical components. Carvacrol also supports the respiratory system.* Oregano supports healthy digestion by promoting the secretion of digestive juices.* You can take Oregano internally by adding a few drops to water, taking it in a veggie capsule, or using it in recipes.
Distilled from the fragrant leaves of the Mediterranean herb, Oregano essential oil is a flavorful addition to cooking and can be used in place of the herb. Add one drop of Oregano essential oil in place of one tablespoon dried oregano. For smaller amounts, dip a toothpick in the bottle and add to taste.
“Oregano is my go to when anyone is unwell in my family or has a cold fever. I put one drop on each foot and it gives the body a boost. It is super strong and as it is a hot oil, I am very careful to wash my hands after I have used it. It’s great in cooking but more than one drop will easily ruin a dish, so I use soak the end of a toothpick in Oregano and then I can control the amount I use.” Sally xxx
