What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a non-invasive, holistic approach to health where the muscle test technique is used to communicate with the body. During a balance, the muscle reaction is assessed and imbalances in the body are detected. An appropriate balancing tool is then used. These balancing tools not only help the body and client back to good health but also empower them to maintain this in the future.

3 reasons to visit a Functional Kinesiologist:

  1. You are still feeling ‘under the weather’ despite repeated visits to the doctor and inconclusive blood tests.
  2. You are continually being told that ‘there is nothing wrong with you’ or ‘we do not know what is wrong with you’.
  3. You have a persistent problem that won’t go away and you don’t want to take another course of ‘anti’ medications (eg: anti-inflammatory, anti-depressants, antibiotics)

A Kinesiologist does not diagnose an illness but they can help you find the root cause of your symptoms.

Kinesiology can help with the following conditions?

    • Low energy
    • Pain
    • Food allergies & sensitivities
    • Nutritional deficiencies
    • Low self-esteem
    • Increased personal performance
    • Fears, phobias & anxieties
    • Learning difficulties
    • Dyslexia
    • Muscular-skeletal problems
    • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
    • Addictions
    • E./chronic fatigue symptoms

How does a Functional Kinesiologist detect the root cause?

When a body is imbalanced, which could be due to nutrition, toxins, structure, emotions or electrical blockages, the body is put under stress. If these stresses and resulting compensations are not addressed, symptoms appear. If the symptoms are not dealt with, disease may occur.  Each of the muscles tested is connected to one of the body’s organs or systems. By assessing how the muscle reacts to the test we can delve down into the root cause of the symptoms.

What does a balance with a Functional Kinesiologist involve?

In a balance, we use specialised lymphatic drainage massage, acupressure to energy reflexes (similar to acupuncture but without the needles!) and emotional stress releasing. We also look at nutrition and test for food intolerances.

Is a balance with a Kinesiologist similar to having a massage?

In some ways it is.  Hopefully you will leave feeling calm, balanced and relaxed.

Although I absolutely love a full body massage with oil and essential oils, (if you haven’t had a massage with Katharine you really should) going back to work or straight out with oily hair is sometimes not ideal.  With a balance you don’t take your clothes off and I don’t use massage oil (I sometimes use essential oils) so you can see me and then go straight back to work.

What should you wear when you come for a balance?

Although you don’t need to take your clothes off for a balance, we may need to move clothing around to reach some of the more awkward to find neurolymphatics.  It’s ideal to wear something relaxed and comfortable, sports wear is perfect.

If you have questions about a diagnosis that you have or haven’t been given or are you looking for a holistic approach to dealing with the causes, we can work together and do some holistic detective work. Functional Kinesiology empowers you to make changes in your life and will help you to get back to and maintain good health.
